Trédaniel plan d'eau, morning.

The emerging reed-mace heads are gorgeously grotesque. These are not bulrushes, and Moses wasn't found in them. Neither was he found in bulrushes, but in yellow flags, which are something else again.

Thanks for visiting my blog so I could discover yours. I love the idea of 30 words a day about walking the dog, even more I love what you're doing with that idea! What lovely observations you make...

They are certainly phallic!

How do you know that Moses was found in yellow flags?

Thank you both, CGP, lovely to see you here!

I looked up about Moses in my King James version, and it said 'among the flags', so I don't know where bulrushes comes from. I knew the reed-mace being mistakenly called bulrushes was from an illustration, in fact Alma Tadema, which showed reed-mace but was entitled 'Moses in the bulrushes'.

I'll try to photograph these a bit later, when they assume a slightly more familiar form!
