Up the road, afternoon

Too warm in sandals and t-shirt.

A curly-headed Friesian bull rises reluctantly from his ruminations.

A family playing on swings; 'Coucou t'es haut!' the father calls rhythmically as he pushes.

Is "coucou" an endearment?

Wasn't it strange? To feel warm, properly warm, on an October weekend!

I couldn't believe I had the chance to admire my toenail varnish - silver grey this time - one more time!

'Coucou' is like hi, cooey, hello there... baby talk but quite universal.

Oh, I like the thought of this man "coucou-ing" to his little girl.
