Up the road or down, sometimes further afield, often not for long, we're out most days.

Down the road, late afternoon.
We duck under the fence, cross the field and enter our goat willow plantation. I think I can't have been in here for about seven years. It has grown enormously.
We planted 100 goat willow cuttings, scraggy pussy willow, in a wet corner of our field about ten or eleven years ago, in order to harvest it one day for firewood. We haven't ever done so, but the trees are now enormous! I might write this up some time at the other place...

Of course I have to ask: What is a goat willow plantation?

Interesting . . . and have you "managed" it at all, or just let it run amok? Why this sort of tree?
And do you have open fires or woodburning stove(s) or what?
