Down the road, late afternoon.

A brighter, kinder day than yesterday, the sun flashing off the ivied trunks and casting Hopkins' 'sandalled shadow' through the branches of the poplars.

The electricity cables beaded with starlings.

Lovely images here and on previous posts.

The image of birds on a wire always amuses me.

I don't know your Hopkins reference -- I will have to look it up. At this time of year, I am nearly blinded by shafts of sunlight coming through gaps in the forest.
