Up the road or down, sometimes further afield, often not for long, we're out most days.

Charnier car park, St Brieuc.
Outside the music college, a slim woman takes a small, cream-coloured harp from her car, and leaves it standing momentarily alone on the grass among the fallen plane tree leaves.
Was the harp in a case, or naked? Harps are such poetic instruments -- although quite difficult to lug around, as I well know because one of my dearest friends is a harpist.
No, it was naked, which was why it was so striking standing amoing the grass and leaves, as well as that it was painted cream, which I'd never seen before, they're usually natural wood, aren't they?
It was also quite small, perhaps a metre high, perhaps a Celtic harp? they are very elegant looking aren't they? Quite an iconic form, somehow...
Curious and curiouser! My harpist friend never moves hers without it being encased. As you say, "most" (meaning all I've seen) harps are natural wood of some sort.
Perhaps it was a specialist harp; I like the sound of a Celtic harp!

Celtic harps are quite popular here, they have a festival for them at Dinan, but I can't say I know a lot about them.
