Up the road, afternoon.
A seemingly exhausted but still fresh-looking peacock butterfly languishes on the road, fluttering and looking helpless. I think of taking it in my cupped hands, relaunching it, but I don't.
Though there seem to have been a new burst of the peacocks just now, and I've even seen new clusters of caterpillars on the nettles. This one did look very bright still, not faded, so perhaps it had been hit by a car or something...
