Up the road or down, sometimes further afield, often not for long, we're out most days.

Trédaniel plan d'eau, late afternoon
Almost all my footwear is muddy, and I am lackadaisical about cleaning it. The paths here are all awash, and I add my smarter black boots to the muddied collection.
The bird feeder outside the kitchen window is a battleground of position in the bird world and I get to watch while goldfinches take positions waiting for turns, sunflower seeds.

I feel about muddy footwear the same way I do about a muddy car: in the winter it's a wasted effort, so why bother?
